The Buildings

Marcoux consists of three principal buildings: the Main House, the Pigeonnier and the Annexe, all with bedrooms, bathrooms and breathtaking views.

The entrance hall of the Main House leads in to a large traditional French kitchen with an open fireplace, a beautiful oak table which seats ten, and double-doors opening onto a stunning stone patio.

The large salon is equipped with wifi, comfy sofas, which includes a writing table, and a huge open fireplace, is perfect for quiet afternoons of writing, drawing, creating, hiding from the summer sun or keeping warm in the winter.

Swimming pool and garden

The swimming pool, 12 by 5 metres, is floodlit and has its own panoramic view. Partially shaded terraces, lawns, trees and shrubs surround the pool and buildings.

Sage, rosemary, lavender and lemon mint grow around pool, offering divine scents and creating a playground for local butterflies, bumble bees and the occasional grass hopper. Next the pool is a 13th Century wine cave, original to the house and now the site of a ping pong table, for those who enjoy a game.

A walled flower garden separates the Main House from the private Annexe. In this hidden corner of Marcoux, white and purple wisteria cascade down ancient walls alongside blushing pink roses.
